Studying Economics

The UNSW Economics Society (EcoSoc) provides advice and consults the UNSW School of Economics and the Australian School of Business on behalf of all Economics and Commerce students. Economics is the study of choice, which has an incredible amount of implications - including the causes of unemployment, inflation, poverty and wealth. You will learn about how firms are organised and how they compete, and why governments regulate businesses. Other important areas include, learning how countries achieve growth and high levels of wealth, underdevelopment, interactions between business and the environment, international trade and the global economy. The principles that underlie the study of economics form an important basis for how business people and policy makers understand these and many other different issues of the world.
